What the Logo?

Out of all of the hubbub surrounding the Thrust or Bust release yesterday, the one thing that I find the most perplexing is how many people seemed to dislike the Smiling Cat company logo.

Ironically, this logo is the ONLY piece of artwork that I had commissioned to a graphic designer so far. Gill! and I both love the logo, and are kind of attached to it now. Gill! even had a shirt made for me as a wedding present with the logo on it. The logo was shown to several dozen people offline, and not once did it engender a negative reaction, hence why I am puzzled as to all of the reaction to it yesterday. But hey, this is the internet, and on the internet things can take on a life of their own.

Some have even sent me suggestions for a new logo. I do appreciate their help, and want to recognize their efforts. It seems like the best place to do that is here in the forums. I also welcome any more logo suggestions, and I will continue to post them here as I receive them at customercare@smilingcatentertainment.com. My only request is that submissions be in a web-able image format such as jpg or png, with a max image height of 512 pixels, though you can feel free to send me vectorized versions in addition to the web-able format.

As for the state of the current logo, it will be staying for now, probably at least until my awesome shirt wears out, because Gill! knows where I sleep. =D
