Vintage Pachinko Released for Android Devices

My latest game, Vintage Pachinko, is now available for Android devices in the Google Play Store. This game/toy is my attempt to simulate a classic pachinko machine. This app is great for just wasting a few minutes in a waiting room or when in line at the bank, so be sure to pick it up to fill those moments of downtime.

It’s a funny story about the release of this game. I would have announced it several hours earlier, but I fell into what is apparently a somewhat well-known pitfall when signing the application package for release on the Android store. When signing applications for Android using Unity3D, apparently I must refrain from using JDK 7 and instead use JDK 6. Shame on me for being logical and trying to use the latest version.

Unfortunately, this pitfall meant that I had an uninstallable package posted on the Google Play store for some hours. Luckily, only people that I know had downloaded and noticed, and I was able to get the issue corrected without a huge Kerfluffle. I guess some bumps in the road are to be expected when working with unfamiliar technology.

All’s well that ends well, though, and the current package has been tested by all affected parties, and is deemed working.
